"Nefarious: Merchant of Souls", is a hard-hitting documentary that exposes the disturbing trends in modern sex slavery. From the very first scene, Nefarious ushers you into the nightmare of sex slavery that hundreds of thousands experience daily. You’ll see where slaves are sold (often in developed, affluent countries), where they work, and where they are confined. You’ll hear first-hand interviews with real victims and traffickers, along with expert analysis from international humanitarian leaders. From initial recruitment to victim liberation—and everything in between—the previously veiled underworld of sex slavery is uncovered in the groundbreaking, tell-all Nefarious, Merchant of Souls.

Come and allow the Lord to produce in you a cry for justice. Our desire is to raise awareness, mobilise prayer for justice and provoke positive action for the abolition of modern day slavery.

Sex trafficking is a very real and current issue in Scotland:

  • prostitution is legal in Scotland, making it a magnet for traffickers
  • several thousand foreign national women work in prostitution in Scotland, but trafficked women are kept silent through fear of violence towards them or their families, and through debt and addiction
  • a recent government inquiry found that there is very little awareness of the problem, and the even professionals who come into contact with trafficking would be unlikely to identify it
  • the UK government heard last year that children are being smuggled into the UK and sold on the streets for £16,000

This screening is part of a three-week tour bringing this issue to light across the UK. Find out more and watch the trailer at nefariousdocumentary.com. Nefarious was produced by Benji Nolot of Exodus Cry, an international anti-trafficking organisation committed to abolishing modern-day slavery through prayer, awareness, and reform, while assisting the victims of human trafficking and slavery through rescue, rehabilitation, and reintegration into society.

Two Encounter God Services in November

GHOP Encounter God Services are times of prophetic, passionate worship led by GHOP musicians and singers, biblical teaching on a theme that will draw your heart towards encounter with the Lord and space for ministry in the power of the Holy Spirit as we respond to Him.  People come from around the city and nation to encounter God together. During the 21-day fast for revival in Scotland, we have two Encounter God Services:

Monday 14th Nov at 8pm | Guest speaker - Steve Long, senior pastor of Catch the Fire Toronto

steve_long_3Steve and his wife Sandra have been in senior leadership at the church in Toronto throughout the years of renewal/revival that God has graciously poured out, and now oversee ten campus churches around the city, including the Airport Campus (previously known as TACF). Steve regularly witnesses God touch lives with physical healing and other signs of the power and love of God.  He shares accounts of remarkable healings and miracles he has seen take place around the world as he teaches biblical principles for healing, and we are very excited about what God will do that night as we worship Jesus and ask for His Kingdom to come in our midst. At GHOP we have testimonies of healing from people who have attended our meetings, including healing of arthritis and a severely damaged leg muscle restored, and believe that the Lord is inviting us into the "greater works" He promised.

Saturday 19th Nov at 7:30pm | Guest speakers - Kevin and Margaret Peat, Elim National Leaders

kevin_margaret_peat

Kevin and Margaret Peat pastored Glasgow Elim church through the years of embracing the move of the Spirit that was birthed primarily through Toronto.  They welcomed the Holy Spirit to bring revival, renewal, the message of Father's love and inner healing to the church - lives were significantly transformed in that time as many learned to receive the love of God and deal with issues of the heart resulting in inner freedom.  Kevin and Margaret still carry that anointing and passion - they have travelled in New Zealand a number of times with the message of the Father's love and inner healing, and Kevin is a regular speaker at River Camp and other conferences and events. Kevin and Margaret are an anointed couple who have had their hearts restored by the love of God.  They love the presence of God and praying for others to experience His healing love. We believe this is going to be a special night of prophetic worship and life-transforming Holy Spirit ministry.

Venue for both Encounter God Services: Glasgow Elim Church is at 42 Inglefield Street, Govanhill, G42 7AT.

Phillip and Sarah Anderson and a team from GHOP will be taking part in a morning seminar on Sunday 24th July alongside our friends at Tearfund Scotland. We will be demonstrating Harp & Bowl intercessory worship, focussing on intercession for current global issues.  Come and exprience GHOP first hand!

Worship - Tue 26th at 6:30pm and Wed 27th at 9:30am - Atrium

Phillip, Sarah and the team are also leading worship at the evening meeting on Tuesday 26th (6:30pm) and the morning meeting on Wednesday 27th (9:30am), in the 'Atrium' venue. Atrium is new this year, and intends to offer an alternative meeting with cutting edge worship.
