The St Andrew's Day leaders' call to prayer was attended by around 250 people - leaders in churches, ministries and Christian organisations. There was a clear sense of the presence of God during worship and as leaders from across Scotland humbled themselves in repentance before the Lord, in response to a powerful call to love Jesus wholeheartedly. The afternoon was spent in intercession for the church and nation, focussing on the government, business and the economy, children and young people. Maggie Lane, a Church of Scotland minister, shared an encounter she had with the Lord (while critically ill in hospital after being resuscitated following a drowning accident), in which she saw Jesus in heaven. The Lord showed her idolatry in her own heart, idolatry in the church in Scotland and the love He has for fallen people, and commissioned her to call the church to repentance and prayer.
The day ended with some key leaders in the nation sharing their heart for the church in the coming months and years. Scotland needs the Church to respond to the call in Joel 2 and 2 Chronicles 7:14 - it is time to gather together in repentance and prayer, that He would have mercy on us, forgive the sin of the nation and the unfaithfulness of the Church and pour out His Spirit on all flesh.

Please pray for the leaders who came, that they would allow the Lord to 'shake the things that can be shaken', so that what remains is wholehearted passion for Jesus, for His word, for His glory to be known in the nations, and for His bride to be made ready for His return.
Another day of prayer for leaders is planned for this November, with the possibility that 2013 may be the year for a large-scale national call to prayer for the whole Church. Many people have dreamed of believers coming together from across the nation, all the denominations and generations, to exalt Jesus and contend for revival/transformation in Scotland. "Lord, I have heard of your fame; I stand in awe of your deeds, Lord. Repeat them in our day, in our time make them known; in wrath remember mercy."
Please continue to pray for Scotland. God will fulfil His promises only in partnership with His people as they take their place in prayer. Your voice is heard in heaven!
